Firefox Copy/paste bug on answers.microsoft.com

When I'm composing a message there, and copy some text from i.e. that thread page, this thread page, a google search, etc. in the Firefox browser, and try to paste it into my message, nothing happens.

However, If I paste the item elsewhere, i.e. in my test editor, and copy it from there, then I can paste it into the answers.microsoft.com. thread message.

I initially thought this was some Microsoft site restriction, but I don't experience this in Chrome. Not only can I paste into a thread there, but I can copy something on that page and paste it into that Microsoft thread in Firefox.

So I suppose. strictly speaking, this is a pasting problem.

Here's an example of a thread there link text

Chosen solution

Any better luck if you paste plain text? Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+V
  • right-click > Paste Without Formatting

There seems to be something amiss as I've been finding that I randomly can't COPY text from various sights. If I highlight and right-click the Copy option is greyed-out, though sometimes Ctrl-C will still work. I haven't had any trouble with PASTING though.

I wonder if there's a problem with the whole clipboard thing.

-I have the same issue only keyboard shortcuts do not work -I dragged the editing tools to the toolbar and they do not work -right click is available to copy/paste but copying doesn't work into Firefox or anything on Windows 11 -Everything was working just fine and then one day it was not -nothing has changed on my PC - this is strictly a Firefox bug -I do not care if the devs cannot duplicate it=it is a Firefox bug Firefox that has been present since windows 7. -all other browsers I have tried are not affected by this -I can copy/paste from literally chromium, chrome, Vivaldi, opera, brave, I mean every one I tried this is not an issue - only Firefox -I tried install Firefox 121.xxb(a beta) and that fixed the issue for about 2 days and now it is back on that version also

This is a deal breaker. I have gone to default Vivaldi as my browser. I'll use Firefox just when I need download video helper.
