Having just re-installed Thunderbird I receive the following error message when trying to set up my gmail account, which had been working fine before

400.

That’s an error.

The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know.

The password is correct as I can login from my browser and I have easily setup my other email accounts - not gmail. Also have re-started PC and Thunderbird.

Help please, regards, Haydn

Be sure that you accept cookies at settings>privacy&security In setup process, enter just name and gmail email address and let Thunderbird do configuration. Do NOT enter password, but wait for Google to ask.
