I lost Firefox
I lost my original Firefox. I'm using a Firefox with no original bookmarks or top menus. Everything is gone.

"Top menus" are easy. Right click at the top of the screen where the tabs are but on actually on a tap. Tick the 'Menu Bar' box in the box that pops up.
No because I used the wrong phrase. Thank you for your directions, which showed me the menu bar. It said: "import bookmarks" "Get Started" which confirmed that my original Firefox and all bookmarks, etc. is gone. What happened?
I looked under This PC .OS (C:) > Program Files > Mozilla Firefox >Firefox but clicking on "application" brought me to the new Firefox with none of my data. I looked under Program Files (x86) > Mozilla Maintenance > Update Logs Would the last log dated 9/17 give me any information if I opened it with Firefox? Program Data has a Firefox file with many numbers Recovery "You don't have permission to open ...."
I checked my phone but that Firefox only has the phone bookmarks. Patricia
Firefox uses two locations in the hidden "AppData" location for the Firefox profile folder.
Primary location used for the main profile that keeps your personal data (Root Directory on about:profiles).
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>

Thank you, cor-el! I'm tied up with another project till Wednesday afternoon but I value all your links and will reply tomorrow.

Hi, cor-el,
After trying all links, I went to: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recover-user-data-missing-after-firefox-update
Typed in: about:profiles Opened profiles page: earliest profile: Profile: default-release clicked launch profile in a new browser "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
The other profile was the same as the current default
No idea how I lost that earlier Firefox profile.
Thank you, Patricia
Hi Patricia, if you compare the Bookmarks Sidebar (Ctrl+B) or Library window (Ctrl+Shift+O as in Organizer), can you see your bookmarks in either of those places? This is to diagnose whether the toolbar is the problem, or whether your bookmarks somehow got reorganized in an unhelpful way.
If that shows the same issue:
On the about:profiles page, find your currently active profile (usually it's the one where there is no "Set as default" button) and click the "Open Folder" button for the Root Directory. This should launch a File Explorer window. In the File Explorer address bar, click Profiles to move up one level in the folder structure. If you compare what you see here to the list on about:profiles, is there anything additional here?
