In trying to sync my bookmarks from my old PC to my new one (Win 11), every. single. time I log in to Firefox, and enter the emailed code I receive, to which I get an on-screen conformation that I've logged in AND an emailed confirmation that I've logged in, I am instantly logged back out- the little yellow triangle shows back up on my account icon. I have tried everything i can think of: I've made sure I'm not in private browsing mode, cookies are enabled, I've forced a log out of all devices, I've closed and re-opened Firefox, I've restated my computer, I've even uninstalled and re-installed Firefox in case there was some odd glitch....all for naught. Nothing I do helps. THEN to make matters worse I get the 15 min blockout to add to my frustration, because I've tried this too many times. All I want to do I sync my bookmakers to my new device....

Solved. After half a night of trying everything, the only thing that worked was reformatting my PC (yikes!) No one wants to have to do that. All that time wasted. But the good news is it was a new laptop, so I didn't lose much, just time redoing my preferences and downloading a few programs all over again. After the wipe, then the new install of Firefox, my login works. To answer previous questions, yes I have Webroot but it had never affected Firefox before, and isn't affecting it now that everything's back up, so I'm 99.9% sure it wasn't affecting my issue from a couple days ago. I still don't know what was causing this, but it's fixed now and I've got all my bookmarks back.

Interestingly, to 'log in' and ask this question here- it accepted my login instantly, has my username, my profile info, and no 2-step verification code. Why on earth will my browser's login not work?

Hi,

Do you by chance have anti-virus/firewall software installed on that computer? If so, try temporarily deactivating the software and repeat the login attempt in Firefox.

Best regards Nathan
