Yesterday, something went wrong in my Windows 11 desktop (I have a virus program installed). One of the casualties involved corrupting Firefox (it would not open). I reinstalled Firefox without removing the old version. Now I have a new installation but all my bookmarks and other data are missing. There is a folder on my desktop labelled as "Old Firefox data". It is possible to restore Firefox to a previous time (a day ago)? Thank you.

Hi, the Old Firefox Data folder is created when Firefox performs a Refresh. If that happened *very* recently, it is worth a try restoring that folder. This involves a copy/paste step and some work within Firefox to add the old folder as a new profile. The following post has the details: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1474421#answer-1687884

But it's possible that another profile folder is equally or more up-to-date. To check on that, try the steps in the first section of the following article: Recover lost or missing Bookmarks.

Any progress so far?
