When I click on "email" icon to send a link, I get "access denied" message

I never had trouble with the email icon before. Now when I try to forward a link to someone, I get a "access denied" message. I'm not real technical, but have tried everything I can and rebooted.

I have had the same problem for a month. I think that I accidentialy hit a privacy key when going too fast because by the time my eyes caught up with the disappearing screen, the icon or whatever had been stroked and later I figured out that I could no longer send things to people. I have tried everything I can think of in looking at options and security etc. and cannot get a fix. I am sure it is simple. But no one ever responded to my question either.
