Bing as default url search

It using bing as the the default url search, however in the about:config under "keyword.url", i have it set to "http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=" (without quotes). I've also tried to reset it to default value as well as various other values, still uses bing. "keyword.enabled" is set to true, i also tried to set it as false. I did not find anything in the add-on/extensions list, nor in the control panel. I think this problem arised after vista 32-bit did an automatic update last night.

I have the same problem. If I type 1 keyword in the address bar, bing will come instead of google, that's irritating.

What I figured out is somehow Microsoft set my DNS siffix to "mshome.net". So I went to regedit and empty all the entry with "mshome.net" (find it and manually set it to blank). After resetting my connection and flush the dns, everything returned to normal.

Hope this can help everyone

you can flush your dns by opening "cmd", and typing "ipconfig /flushdns" without the quotes
