On the upper right side of the Google toolbar, when I type in a search, it directs me to "search.good-search.net." (Gives bad links)

Additionally, sometimes when (blank) tabs are open they open to a random page. Related?

When I use the "about:config" option to change the address back to the default, it doesn't save.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

Uninstall/disable google toolbar and any suspicious addons in Tools Addons window, both extensions and plugins sections. If it doens't help, try Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode, reply about how it works.

Thanks for the suggestion, Gryllida, but it didn't work. Any other ideas?

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs. You need to use all programs because each detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database.
