I have stopped using Adobe Reader and started using Nuance PDF Reader. It is much more efficient and a much smaller footprint. My problem is that it will not open pdf documents imbeded in a web page. Example, I am trying to read my messages from Verizon Wireless on their web site.

Chosen solution

Some people do prefer to read in an embedded PDF viewer; I've always configured Adobe Reader to push embedded PDFs out to the standalone reader. More stable, in my experience.

Until Nuance releases a Firefox-compatible plugin, though, I don't think you have a choice.

What do you have for PDFs here:

Tools > Options > Applications

I suggest choosing "Always ask" given your current software options.

Thanks for the great advice, it worked just fine with the changes you suggested. I will contact Nuance and ask them to develop a Foxfire add-on.

I really appreciate your quick response. Thanks.
