When I try to open Firefox, it says that "the proxy server is refusing connections." What settings do I need to change? Even though the internet signal is strong, I can't open any webpages.
It also says that Windows cannot connect to the Internet using HTTP, HTTPS or FTP. This is probably caused by Firewall settings on this computers. Check the firewall settings for HTTP port (80), HTPPS prot (443) & FTP port (21).
This all started when I tried to tried to delete the Verizon Broadband toolbar and home page that always opened when I opened Firefox.

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".
See "Firefox connection settings" in Server Not Found - Troubleshoot connection problems
You can find the connection settings in "Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection"
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy

Hi all, I use ff 4 and even if I select No Proxy, when I reopen firefox it give me the same page with the refused connection to the proxy server, and I have to change it manually all the time, it is possible to select that option permanently?
