when i click on the icon to start ff i get this message onload error TypeError: TcFfUpdates.getTcPluginsInstance().getNewExtensionsList is not a function i then click ok and firefox loads but is insanely slow and often pops up with this error

That is likely to be due to a problem with an add-on. To establish which add-on is causing this follow the procedure in the troubleshooting extensions and themes article.
