I used to download video from my JVC camcorder to Windows XP and then Firefox via Firewire. Then I got a new computer with Windows 7 and now it doesn't recognize my Firewire card. Apparently W7 doesn't support Firewire. Will it work if I change to Firefox on the new computer?

It will make no difference if you use Firefox. Windows 7 will support firewire, but you will need to install the drivers for the firewire card. Check the manufacturers website for your firewire card to see if they have Windows 7 drivers.

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried to find drivers but to no avail. I e-mailed JVC who made my camcorder who said it will not work with W7 as it was designed to work with XP and they couldn't do anything to help!! All I know is that the thing worked ok after I changed my old computer to Firefox so will it work if I change to Firefox on my new computer. Seems to me the obvious thing would be to try it and see!! Maybe....
