Why can't I open hyperlinks in emails? I am using Outlook 2011 for Mac. This happens regardless if Firefox is open in the background or not.

I just switched from Entourage to Microsoft Outlook 2011. I have no previous versions of Outlook on my computer. My email is stored on an Exchange server. When I try to click on a hyperlink in an email that was sent to me, nothing happens. At first, Firefox would open to a blank screen, however now nothing happens

I had this issue too and I resolved it by opening Safari/preferenes/general and changed the default web browser back to Safari. Closed down Firefox and Safari, tested link in Outlook and it opens in Safari with no problem. Then repeat and change back to Firefox, click on link in Outlook and it should fire up Firefox and go to the linked web page.

Has worked since then for me.
