New Tabs refuse to open

This problem began to happen just this morning. I turned on my laptop [ThinkPad T40], and opened Firefox. When I attempted to open a new tab, nothing happened. I then tried Ctrl+T, and still nothing happened. After going into File - New Tab and having nothing work, I updated Firefox to 3.6, then looked for a solution.

I have tried disabling several Add-Ons [AVG not being installed], Safe-Mode, and rebooting. Nothing works.

Try uninstalling the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and the current version of Firefox.
