PDF's dont open on screen

more options

I find a PDF - I click on it and now instead of opening on the screen it simply downloads it.

It used to open on the screen - ie Adobe would run and open it then I could decide to save it or not.

Suddenly it doesn't do this but simply downloads it so I have to remove the file.

Hi,

This issue generally occurs due to missing pdf reader plugin. you need to see which pdf reader are you using. adobe reader or foxit reader. 1. go to : "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" see if there is a folder " Plugins" , look for Adobe reader (nppdf32.dll) plugin or Foxit reader (npFoxitReaderPlugin.dll) plugin inside it, 2. Go to tools > options > Applications ( 4th tab from left) in the window below look for "pdf document" and its respective actions it should be "use adobe/foxit reader plugin for mozilla" Restart the browser and visit this link to test your pdf with the browser: http://www.education.gov.yk.ca/pdf/pdf-test.pdf

If the plugin folder is missing in "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" 1. Manually create a folder "plugins" in "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" 2. download the foxit plugin (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/downloads/) or adobe plugin ( adobe generally installs when you install adobe reader. 3. repeat the same steps: Go to tools > options > Applications ( 4th tab from left) in the window below look for "pdf document" and its respective actions it should be "use adobe/foxit reader plugin for mozilla" Restart the browser and visit this link to test your pdf with the browser: http://www.education.gov.yk.ca/pdf/pdf-test.pdf.

Hope this resolves this issue.
