Simply the annoying little addon that places sometimes, seemingly random links around a webpage. Enabled it when I downloaded FF4 but hate it and now I can't find how to disable or remove it. Thanks for any help on this.

Check the add-ons manager for the extension, you can uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

When SmartLinks is disabled (from the Tools --> SmartLinks menu), no SmartLinks code gets loaded or executed, and thus no additional system resources are consumed. In other words, the SmartLinks functionality is effectively removed while in the disabled state.

The only trace of SmartLInks (when disabled) is the actual menu item (Tools --> SmartLinks), which we've kept because some users like to enable & disable SmartLinks at will.

With that said, you bring up a good point that it's not desirable to have a menu item for a service you're not using. Unfortunately, we don't currently have an option to remove the menu item in this instance, but we'll include this in the next release based on your suggestion.

In the meantime, you can install the Menu Editor add-on (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire...) and then go into the Add-on preferences for Menu Editor to remove the SmartLinks menu item in the Tools menu.
