The default homepage for firefox 4 (About:home) does not function whatsovever, and all other workarounds have not worked.

Even in Safe Mode it doesn't work so can't be Add-On related?

I found the solution! If you don't mind losing your add-ons, bookmarks, history, (etc.), then go to "start", then click on "Run..." and type in this command firefox -profilemanager Now, delete the default profile and then create a new profile and ta-daa! About:home should work.

I will update this post if I find a way to keep the bookmarks, history, add-ons, (etc.)

That can happen when the DOM storage (localStorage) is disabled when the Firefox Profile is updated.
