At this time Norton Toolbar is incompatible with Firefox 4.0 and will be disabled if you upgrade! I recommend using Firefox 3.6.16 until Firefox or Norton fixes the incompatibility problem!!

The issue with Norton products (and some other third-party vendors) is that Norton (and others) did not take the time during the year-long development period to test their product for compatibility with Firefox 4.

  • It is the responsibility of vendors/developers to be certain that their products are compatible with any new browser, Firefox or others.
  • Third- party vendors of Firefox Add-ons have the information and have access to alpha and beta builds of Firefox throughout the alpha and beta testing phases.
  • Many do not update their products until a final release of a browser, thereby penalizing their paid customers.
  • File complaints with Norton and/or your third-party vendor.
  • There are problems with a number of security products and the newest browsers (Firefox 4, IE 9, etc.). Contact Norton about the issue with Norton products.
