Make sure that Firefox closes properly. Otherwise Firefox may try to reopen a crashed session.

Ah, I see. I've been closing Firefox by hitting the little X in the upper right corner. It always worked fine on earlier versions. So, what I need to do is to go to File > Exit. It seems to work.
