Thank you for responses. I spent time in MS Office where I was able to download the active X upgrade. This is now sorted, but, I still cannot print from my Outlook Express without the system shutting me down. Where do I go from here? ps I am able to print from every other program without any problem.

Outlook Express shuts down when I want to print an email from it. when I reload outlook express I get a message 'One or more Active X settings prohibit running Active X controls on this page or you have blocked a publisher of one of the controls'

As this is a problem with Outlook Express, try asking in a forum that specializes in Windows & Microsoft products, such as Eileen's Lounge - http://eileenslounge.com/

Firefox has never done ActiveX and probably never will.
