When I try connecting to www.hotmail.com Firefox gives a message 'connected to secure.wlxrs.com' in the status bar, but the page doesn't finish loading.

This happens whether I type in the address www.hotmail.com or select a link for hotmail from Google search.

Please go to Plugins Check page and update all the plugins which are shown in red (there will be several) and then try Hotmail again.

Thank you for your quick response. I have done as you asked. However, only Shockwave Flash plug-in was shown in red and when I clicked to update it and then download - it just came up as 'waiting for fpdownload.adobe.com'.

The machine having the problem is acutally my neighbours. I have downloaded the install program on my own machine and will try installing using this. Any other suggestions!

Many thanks.

You could try running your neighbours machine in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If it functions correctly in that configuration, then one of the add-ons will be the culprit.

You can download the Flash plugin from Adobe @ http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ if you weren't successful on the ftp site.
