Chosen solution

Those buttons aren't in the drop-down Palette to be "added", they are on the Navigation toolbar and need to be "moved". The Stop and Reload buttons should appear between the Location bar and the Search bar when Customize is open, and the Home button should appear to the right of the Search bar.

how do i shrink the size of the search bar to see what other icons are hiding to the right of it, off the screen and out of view?

It is possible that the screen is too wide.
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.
