I use Fox News for my Home Page, now with the update, its immediately kicked off and the Yahoo websearch page comes up. I've rebooted, reloaded and tried to reconfigure, no luck.

With your last update, I cannot use Fox News as my Home Page. It immediately kicks off and goes to Yahoo web search page, which I don't like at all. I use Google or Bing. If this is a permanent issue, I'll switch back to MSN.

Please do the following.

  • In the location bar, type about:config and hit Enter.
  • In the filter at the top, type: keyword.URL
  • Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q=
  • Go to File | Exit
  • Restart Firefox, go to the site you want to set as your homepage.
  • Go to Tools | Options | General.
  • Make sure it says "Show My Homepage" in the first dropdown menu.
  • Click the button called "Use Current Pages" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.

The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.

EDIT: go to Tools | Add-ons | Plugins and disable Browserplus which is also Yahoo.

It didn't work for me. I'll try rebooting the computer also. I rechecked the keyword.URL and it was as you indicated. I also disabled the Browserplus.

Thanks

Reboot didn't help. Same problem. www.foxnews.com won't stay loaded. It's knocked off and replaced with the Yahoo web search page. Rechecked keyword.URL, still as suggested. Browserplus still disabled.
