Can I toggle a setting in about:config?

Have turned off all add-ons, and re-started but plus sign did not show up. I am using FF4.0.1.

Click the orange Firefox button, go to Add-ons, then Plugins and disable Browserplus.

Incidentally, your VLC player is seriously out of date and exposes your system to attack. Update via http://www.videolan.org/ The version on their site is also vulnerable to attack and a patch is expected shortly, but you'll be better off with that version than the one you have right now.

EDIT: right click a blank part of the Tab bar and click Customize. Then in the panel which appears, click "Restore Default Set".

I don't have Browserplus add-on.

I don't have Videolan.

I did the "Restore Default Set" but that didn't help the situation: still no plus sign next to the tabs.

I have WinXp.

Anything else you wish to know to help me with this problem?

See image of FF4 (attached).

Hi.

I have fixed the problem.

I was asked to "Restore Defualt Set" originally.

After doing that, I wanted to "customize" the sidebar as there were a few toolbar items I wanted displayed.

I found that the "Plus sign" is a "toolbar item".

So I simply dragged it next to the right of the tab/s (up top) and dropped it. Now everything is back to normal, and I can open new tabs with the "Plus sign".

Thankyou for all your help.

I hope this answer can also help others at some time.

All The Best.

Michael Lindsay. Melbourne, Australia.
