I check the "Remember Passwords for sites" but the checkmark goes away when I restart Firefox. Why?

I click on Tools, Options, Security and check the "Remember Passwords for sites" box. It stays checked as long as I have Firefox open. But when I shut it down and restart it, the checkmark is gone from the box. How can I make sure it'll be there when I open Firefox each time?

Do you have DELL Face Recognition ?

That software has been reported to cause this issue.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
