I've only noticed this recently. If I click on the little plus tab, nothing happens. If I go File, New Tab - nothing happens. If I go Ctrl T, nothing happens. I've looked at the options and nothing seems to point to an answer. I have Firefox 3.6.17, running on Vista Home Premium

Chosen solution

Check http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions also suspect would be an extension with "Tab" in the name.

Try testing in Firefox Safe Mode, if it works there it is almost certainly an extension

feedback on whatever caused problem was be appreciated by other users when it comes time to mark item as solved.

Firefox 4 & 5 users can quickly bring up next session in Safe Mode from Help

I think my reply was chosen in error, I know I wished I'd not posted it when I saw Ed's reply (seconds or minutes apart).

see the-edmeister: The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions.

Thank you! Can I tell you how wonderful this service is? Sometime back you had to post on a forum and hope someone would answer.

BTW, I did not install the Ask toolbar. I downloaded some software a few days ago, and suddenly the Ask toolbar appeared. I clicked it off from the View menu but didn't think about where it came from.

Thanks again
