Recently I installed jzip and the firefox extension.

Following your helpful steps I successfully uninstalled the search bar. But I have a new problem. When ever I put java script in my url bar it jumps to the jzip search engine.

location bar search article explains how to reset that using the about:config page.

To reset the Internet Keywords service to use a standard Google search, right-click on keyword.URL and select Reset.
