When I download Firefox, the icon does not appear on my screen so I can place it in my Mac applications folder then the dock.

Each time I have tried downloading Firefox since 4.0 was released, I click on download. The download screen appears on my computer. I click on the save button. The download proceeds and I do find it in my downloads folder. However, the Firefox icon never appears on my screen so that I can place it in my applications folder.

What happens if you double click the file in your Downloads folder? If you're downloading from mozilla.com for MacOSX, the file is a .dmg (disk image) which you need to open by double clicking it, then drag the Firefox icon out of the disk image into your Applications folder.
