I just had to upgrade to firefox 5 due to having to reformat my computer. I imported my bookmarks from a html file and then moved them to the bookmarks toolbar folder.

I then turned on the bookmarks toolbar but no bookmarks will appear on it. I also cannot drag bookmarks onto it.

I tried to find firefox 4 online so I could downgrade since firefox 5 so far seems to be useless and irritating compared to 4 and doesn't appear to have a functioning bookmarks system. But I couldn't find a copy of it online to download either.

Firefox 4 is no more for security reasons. Fx5 in some ways was the same as if it was 4.0.2.

Something that often works. Right click on a toolbar space>customize>look in the icon box for something with a name like Bookmarks Toolbar and drag it to the Bookmarks Toolbar.

There is usually no problem with bookmarks specific to Fx5.

That does absolutely nothing to help.

It just means that when i click the bookmarks button on what should be the bookmarks toolbar it opens the bookmarks as a side tab and then I still have to find whatever one I want.

I want the old way of dragging bookmarks onto the bookmark toolbar and having them stay in the write order. Not click a button, to open a sidebar, to select a bookmark from a long list.

I reinstalled firefox and tried this and it did work. First time I tried the only option that showed up that would let me drag an icon to do with bookmarks was one that was called 'bookmarks' and that one didn't work.
