How do I disable Firefox upgrades?

more options

After upgrading to Firefox 5.0 on Windows XP SP3 fully patched, my laptop would not boot properly. After many attempts at uninstalling FF 5 I gave up and reinstalled Windows. All is well now running FF 4.01 and I want to keep it that way. Thanks for your help.
