Dear Sirs,

My Firefox on my desktop crashed. I removed Firefox completely and tried to reinstate a new one. I now receive an "Alert"quoting: Could not utilize the applications Security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your applications profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features. Unquote.

My hard disk is not full and I cannot seem to fix this problem!

Please advise.

It seems there could be more than one reason for this type of problem. Creating a new profile may be the quickest way of solving it. If creating a new profile is necessary & does allow Firefox to open normally there are then further steps that may be taken if you need to restore any lost information.
