I tried clearing out my cache/cookies/active logins and it still won't ask me to remember a new password. It's asked me to save a new password before too which is why it's so strange. One of the websites in question is salesforce.com if that helps. thanks!

The salesforce.com website is using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.

You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.
