Anyone else run into this? When I first launch Firefox (this problem has existed for several versions), Firefox asks to activate some really obscure fonts I own. I can't imagine any mainstream site (like Wikipedia) using these fonts. No other browser (Safari, Chrome) has this behavior.

Not sure if its Firefox directly, or Firefox sending a font request to the OS, but it's an annoying problem.

Move all User fonts in Font Book to Computer fonts.

  1. Launch Font Book (/Applications/Utilities/)
  2. Open Font Book > Preferences
  3. Deselect: "Automatic Font Activation"
  4. Set the "Default Install Location" for fonts to "Computer"
  5. Select all User fonts
  6. Move the selected User fonts to Computer fonts
  7. Remove all duplicate fonts in Computer fonts

I use FontCase to manage fonts (of which I have quite a few). I don't want to install my user fonts into the OS. That's the whole reason for a font manager.

No other browser I use requires this. Why does Firefox 3.6~6?
