I have no ff address bar or a seach bar. I just upgraded to 6.0.2 and might have somehow deleted them. How do I put them back? Thanks~ MLJ

Go to the Orange Firefox button -> Options and makes sure Navigation toolbar is checked. If it is, go to Firefox button -> Options -> Toolbar Layout and drag your address bar and search bar to your navigation toolbar.

If that doesn't work, try running firefox in Safe Mode, and, when the safe mode box comes up, select "reset all toolbars and controls," then "Make changes and restart"

My orange firevox button does not show options. It has restore, move, size, minimize, maximize, close. I see no toolbar layout anywhere. Under view and toolbars, navigation toolbar is checked. Thanks for your help, anyway. I'll keep trying. MLJ

It looks like you are right clicking on the firefox button. Try left clicking. If that doesn't work, press the alt key to temporarily show the menu bar. Then go to view -> toolbars ->

Thanks again. Left clicking gives the same menu as right click. In view, toolbars, the navigation toolbar is checked. However the Foxfire address bar and the google search bar are not shown. It is just a blank area.

Sorry for the trouble. I appreciate any help I can get~ Thanks! MLJ

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"

  • If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" (Windows)
  • If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
  • If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.

Thanks for the replies. My problem is not the missing toolbar, I have the toolbar. On the toolbar the firefox address locater and the google search items are missing. I have the navigation and tool bar checked. When I choose to customize the only search bar available is yahoo, which I don't want. I need to find a way to get the firefox address locator and google search. Everything else is there.

I have no idea how I don't have it. It has always been there until I upgraded to 6.0.2. Thanks for all the help. MLJ

Yahoo is set as your default search provider. Drag the yahoo search bar up to your navigation toolbar, select the dropdown menu beside "yahoo" and change it to google. The address bar is called "location" or "location bar."

If that doesn't work, try running firefox in Safe Mode, and, when the safe mode box comes up, select "reset all toolbars and controls," then "Make changes and restart"

Thanks Matt~ I finally did do just what you suggested. I had dragged the yahoo bar up and changed it to google. Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it. MLJ
