Chosen solution

The last Firefox version from Mozilla to work on the old OSX 10.4.11 is Firefox 3.6.* where the current 3.6.22 can be found at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

As of Firefox 4.0 and newer a Intel Mac and OSX 10.5+ is required.

However since you are using a PPC Mac there is a third-party option you can look at. http://tenfourfox.blogspot.com/2011/08/601-now-available.html

I tried your /firefox/all-older. html download via Safari and it downloaded ok but it gave codec overrun when it tried to mount the dmg. I checked that on the web and it said I should disable download manager. I then tried downloading it via AOL but then it wouldn't verify. So I went to the Q window and typed download manager and among the options was to download folx. I did that, downloaded the firefox file again, no problems , it is now installed and working and I am happy. I shall have to investigate how to disable "download manager" to avoid potential furture problems. Thank again. John
