a web site i use everyday is telling me that i now need to download flash and enable java script, how do i do this?
i use the american family web site everyday, and today when i went to play the games that i play every day instead of the game coming up, a notice that says i need to install flash and enable java script in order to see these games.

You do have the Shockwave Flash 11.0 r1 plugin, so Flash should be working.

That leaves option that you are blocking JavaScript.
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
