how can I stop firefox crashing before the browser screen appears ?
Last night my partner had trouble opening firefox on her computer. I tried on my own computer and on double clicking on the firefox icon on my desktop it proceeded to open the browser but immediately crashed, came up with the mozilla firefox apology and 'do I wish to report it' box at which point I tried to restart it but the same thing happened again. I've attempted to reboot my computer and see if that worked, alas no joy. I have also tried rebooting our wireless router, still no joy :o( I thought it was maybe just a glitch last night, but it's been like this all day today. I thought maybe this was a problem with the internet but my windows internet explorer is working fine hence why i can send you this e-mail. So it won't open on my partner's computer or mine yet our internet's working fine. All of my favourites are in my firefox browser. Please can you tell me what is happening and How can we solve this problem of bringing firefox back without losing my favourites on my browser toolbar. Yours sincerely Mr S. Sue

Hello Mr S. Sue,
Since yesterday we have a lot of crashes with Trusteer Rapport. If you have this program, try to disable it and see if that stops the crashing.
You can stop Rapport using Start Menu > Programs > Trusteer Rapport > Stop Rapport
You can ask their helpdesk when an updated version of their product will be made available or, if you don't need this software, uninstall it.

If you do not have Rapport, then we need to have a crash report ID. When you send Mozilla a crash report it just puts it in a giant database. We have no way of looking it up without the Report ID. I have no idea what is wrong without looking up the crash report. Please get the Report ID of your latest crash report.
