I no longer get 'dings' in google chat when people want to chat with me.

About 6 weeks ago I stopped getting sound notifications when people come on google chat. Someone from Firefox sent me a patch to fix it and it worked for a couple of days but now it doesn't anymore. He said google disabled the sounds from Firefox so the patch would work. I have enabled all sounds and the volume is at about 70%. Sounds work in other programs.

I am running Windows 7 and have plenty of memory. The computer is 9 months old.
