Why does Firefox keeps manufacturing etilqs files on my hard drive which tend to be 1-3gb in size?

After searching online I found other firefox support faq sites that list the etilqs files as something firefox creates. As I use firefox daily, I also have to go into the windows/temp file to delete out these etilqs files that have added up to be over 10gb in size but daily tend to be about 3gb in size. This is a pc that's a few years old & has about 30gb of free space left so it's a daily hassle to delete out these files. In the firefox options it says that it's using 302mb of offline storage yet in the windows/temp file I have 8 files labeled etilqs which total 4gb in size. I'm at my wit's end almost & considering just not using firefox again due to this ongoing problem.

That are temporary SQLITE database files (etilqs is sqlite spelled backwards). Such files shouldn't be here. The presence of such files can be caused by security (anti-virus software) that keeps a handle on such files for inspection and makes it impossible to remove them.

You need to check such software and exclude that folder from their scans.

When I attempt to delete the etilqs file I am informed that it can't be deleted, the file is being used by FireFox. Not a security application.
