I closed my list of favorites to get a larger screen view. Now I can't get my list back up. I don't like the pull-down arrow. Too annoying.

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"

You can toggle the Bookmarks sidebar on/off via "View > Sidebars > Bookmarks" or Cmd/Ctrl+B
