The pictures on websites I visit (facebook, twitter, blog etc) just doesn't load! I tried the suggestions given by others in similar threads but it didn't work. Example: http://twitpic.com/7po96j/full

                http://twitpic.com/7po95c/full

Somehow, the links under 'Tools > Page Info > Media" is grayed but the box "Block images from...." isn't marked. ---> http://twitpic.com/7poai0/full

Does it work if you click the location field of that image and use Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C to copy the URL to the clipboard and paste the URL in the location bar and open that image in a tab?

Do you have any extensions installed that can block images?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

It's working completely fine now without having me do anything! Weird.....maybe it's the server?

It may have been a caching problem where items stored in the cache have expired.

If it happens again the try to reload the web page(s) and bypass the cache.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

Or clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
