Firefox worked fine for a while, but now web pages, pics & graphics load slow and does a lot of "transferring data from" before going to page. I have tried various scans. My computer won't let me uninstall firefox. What happened?

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

how exactly do I remove all rules for firefox from the permissions list?

Is your firewall listed in the Firewalls article?

You need to open the settings window of the firewall and find the tab that lists the rules for each application and look for the settings of the Firefox program.
