i have been trying to open jgriffin's stand alone profilemanager.app for an embarassingly long time [over a month] with no success. i have downloaded every iteration of the app from the first beta to the stable release. each time i try to open it i get pop up warning saying “a copy of profilemanager is already open. only one copy of profilemanager can be open at a time.” i have combed through the developer’s blog, mozillazine articles and mozilla support for an answer. all to no avail.

if anyone has an a solution to this conundrum that they are willing to share, i will be forever in their debt.

please be advised that i am a relative newcomer to the internal mysteries of snow leopard when suggesting solutions.

thank you.

Do you get that same error if you try to open the regular Profile Manager via a terminal window?

no i don't. i am not adept at using terminal. i am sometimes able to open the old profile manager with terminal, sometimes not, but i never get the copy already open message.

thanks.
