My mouse is no longer active on the uppermost sections of any webpages. Hyperlinks are not recognized, mouseover behaviors do not occur and even the scrollbar will not function unless I page down to a certain point and then drag it to the uppermost point. Problem persisted even after upgrading to a newer version of Firefox. The problem does not occur with IE.

Chosen solution

Both the Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause an issue like that. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.
