Download Error /users/...xxx.ciw could not be opened because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to disk...

Saving to disk did not provide a file recognizable by EndNote. All of this worked with Safari.

What setting must I change to fix this?

Thanks for the tip. I had to trash the mime.types.rdf file, but that did the job.
