That sound like a problem with the player or plugin that is used to play the MP3 files.

Is the QuickTime plugin used to play MP3 files?

The Mozilla ActiveX plugin is not compatible with Firefox 2 versions and later and you should remove it.

I removed the mozilla ActiveX. Which settings? Player Preferrences or Quicktime Preferrences would need to be changed?
