Check that you have the most up to date version of the add-on, and that it is supposed to be supported in Firefox. Try using Firefox in safe mode. Post back with how you get on.

That is a search plugin for the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar.
You need to select the GoogleDictionary search engine to make use of that translate service.
