Namely, the top left start button (normally, 'Firefox' or 'Aurora') as well as back navigation button seem to unpredictably change their background image/color in accordance to the websites's css properties. The background image/color changes back to the one that is expected, when mouse hovers over.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).


Try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
