When a new tab is opened, Firefox does not switch to the tab. Also, I cannot select the tab and go to that window, as selecting the tab does nothing. I can create a new tab by clicking on the plus sign at the end of any tab but the browser with not go to the new tab. I do not have the "Ask" toolbar, so this is not the problem. Does anyone have a solution?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

You can try to reset Firefox.

Reset creates a new profile and tries to import some settings from the old profile leaving the old profile intact.
