When a pop-up is opened in a new tab, do NOT switch to it immediately

Hi. I have changed value of browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction from 2 to 0. Now pop-ups open in a new tab instead of new window, which is cool. But still firefox immediately switches to the pop-up that gets opened in a new tab. I want to have firefox in a way that, when a pop-up gets opened in a new tab, do NOT switch to it immediately.

Note: The option "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" in menu Options->Tabs, is already unchecked.

Chosen solution

Try to set the browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground pref to true on the about:config page.
